Library Director

The Missouri River Regional Library Board (MRRL) seeks energetic, creative & skilled leader to serve as Director of library serving population of 86,700, annual circulation of 760,400, collection of 261,700 items, staff of 66, annual budget of 2.9 million for Cole & Osage counties in Central Missouri. Director is responsible for overall administration & operation of library system which includes main library in Jefferson City, branch library in Linn, & bookmobile. Requirements:  MLS/MLIS degree from ALA accredited institution, 10 years professional public library experience; minimum of 5 years supervisory/managerial experience in a public library. Proven fiscal management experience; ability to effectively plan & use library technology; thorough knowledge of public library service & human resource management. Strong work ethic, integrity & commitment to serve as Library’s advocate in community; ability to inspire community support; & possess excellent human relations skills.
